Terminology:
Health Care Provider: The individual responsible for providing for a person’s health. In the adult population this is the patient, not a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other medical services professional. The term “Health Care Provider” has been used by the government, insurance companies and others as as way of making all of the professions the same. Medical professionals deliver medical goods and services depending on their training and expertise. It is up to the patient to provide for themselves.
